Okay guys, I am moving in a week and emptying out my closet! I have had trouble swapping these. Soooo, they are free! You just pay shipping. :D
Canada Post shipping is basically whack. One CD is thin enough to go Light Packet which will be $3 to the US, $4 anywhere else. Once you start adding CDs, it gets too thick and has to go Small Packet which is $5 ground/surface and $7 air (to the US); will calculate for international upon request.

I have a question regarding Quick Time. Kindof.
So I have a video file that is in .avi format, and whenever I try to play it with Quick Time it has no sound.
I also tried opening it with DivX and it says this:
You may need an additional audio decoder to play the soundtrack of this file. This file contains a track in the Dolby AC3 Audio (code "8192") format. You may need to install a DirectShow decoder for this audio format in order to hear the soundtrack of this file.
I have tried looking online for decoders, but all of the ones I can find are for windows.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have a kinda weird problem...iTunes is coping the wrong artwork to the wrong songs on my iPod. Like, it swaps them around with other songs. It REALYY bothers me. I tried downloading the song again (I didn't get it off iTunes, I get music from other places), and re-adding the song to iTunes, and it still is messing the artwork up. I add my own artowkr, either from Amazon or pretty graphics I find. Is there any way to fix this? I even tried to reset the iPod, and still no change. Help?

This is so irritating. I added some new music and an audio book to my iPod. I ejected my iPod and now neither the new music nor the audio book will play. The files seem to load but nothing happens. It just stays at 0:00. Now iTunes won't recognize my iPod and Windows tells me it needs to be reformatted. This is like the 4th time this has happened in a year with TWO different iPods. WHY does it keep doing this? Yes, I can reformat my iPod and load my backed up music onto it, but I doesn't understand why this keeps happening and what I can do to prevent it. It seems to always be the same thing, too: I add new music, I eject my iPod, the iPod fucks up and iTunes won't recognize it anymore.

i updated my ipod touch last week when prompted to, and ever since then, it's been lagging pretty badly with nearly everything. the little sound it does when saying i have mail is delayed for minutes, even after i've closed out of the program and sometimes even after i've turned the ipod off.
and most recently, safari had been freezing, but now it won't open at all.
my question is will they fix it if i take it in? i've had the ipod for less than a year, so i was just wondering what i should do. thanks for any help.

Here's my problem, it follows from my previous posting. i have folders full of my own files that I can't burn onto disc becuase I don't have premission. Even though I am admin. I can manuallu change permissions for each file but that would take ages. "Repair Permissions" with disk Utility won't do anything AFAIK since it only works on the system and apps that have a BOM and my files don't, and even if they do, it's wrong.
How can I change bulk permissions on my files and folders? Is there a script or something that will do it?

Hi, I just upgraded to a new Mac Mini with 10.6 from 10,.4. I used Migration assistant to copy my stuff across, and it worked- but it also copied across various system preference panels and things that don't work with 10.6 and I have various applications that may or may not run under 10.6 but no way to tell what will or won't.
1. Is there some way to get rid of the unwanted System Pref windows and associated files? Note that these are not application prefs files - there are some apps that will do that, don't need them.
2. Is there an app or something that can tell what works with 10.6 and what won't?
3. I am surprised to find that any time I go to trash an application I have to input my password. Is there some way to turn that off? Thanks,

I have a MacBook that I got for Christmas last, and up until about a month ago, it has been working great. About the middle of last month, I noticed that it would not fully charge when it was plugged in. I didn't really think much of it, but then I noticed that it would have the battery symbol instead of the charging symbol when it was still plugged in.
Now, I will have it plugged in for a long period of time, and it will work fine, be at full battery capacity and the like, and suddenly it will just stop charging and drain the battery.
I believe the issue is with the charger and not the battery because the light will randomly turn green when the battery is far from full. When I unplug it and plug it back in, it works fine.
it's such a sporradic problem that I'm wondering if it is worth taking it in the the genius bar and seeing if it needs to be fixed. How much does a new charger cable cost? Would that help me at all?
Any help is appreciated, I'm stuck.

Okay, another question. I am using Carbonite to do an online backup. They says it transfers about 2-3 gigs per 24 hours on the initial back up. So this will take a very long time. So is it safe to leave my computer on for at least 24 hours+ without over heating. I have it well ventilated. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I bought a high-end cooling pad for my macbook pro and it works great! Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm doing some fanart and want to take some screencaps of a DVD. Can you recommend some freeware that will have a sliding bar to control the video as well as the screencapping functionality? I googled this but there's so much to sift through and would like your recommendation.
I tried this but I can't get it to work...

Has anyone here ever used an on-line backup for their Mac? Would you recommend it? What is your opinion of it.
Another question as well. Should I put any type of anti-virus on my Macbook? If so, what would you recommend.
